Promoting the State's Investment in Our Children
Huge thanks to Laura Fish-Kelly and her team at Heirloom Private Wealth in Glastonbury for organizing their annual sock drive for WAIM! This year, they donated 2,033 pairs of new socks that we will distribute throughout the year, surpassing last year's mark of 1,800 pairs! The donations came from Heirloom's clients, staff, and surrounding community.
For over 40 years, WAIM has harnessed the civic engagement of everyday people to reduce poverty and its symptoms. Items like new socks, underwear, and toiletries are especially helpful to WAIM clients experiencing various forms of homelessness and housing instability. This sock drive was a major contribution to WAIM's mission to provide caring services and resources to meet our neighbors' needs with dignity and respect. We are grateful!
