WILLIMANTIC — After being laid off in March 2020, Willimantic resident William Allen’s employment status was in limbo for 14 months. His misfortunes continued when he was in a bad accident that sent him into a coma for a week and rehabilitation for a month.
Despite all the setbacks, the 39-year-old finally graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree with the help of his mentor, Windham resident Murphy Sewall.
